Prior to arrival
- Please complete an online “covid-19” questionnaire for every session on the day of the session – the personal details of participants/visitors/spectators will kept for 21 days and will be sent to NHS Track and Trace upon their request.

- you will not be allowed to join the session unless this questionnaire has been completed! (This questionnaire must be also completed by spectators/parent of junior fencers, spectators will be permitted only when 2m spaced seating is available)

Arrival
- Must wait to be checked in by Covid officer on duty before joining the session
- Please wear a face covering as you come in, during warm up, stretching, footwork and between the sparring matches
- Sanitise your hands on entry and leaving (sanitiser will be provided)
- Change in the hall (limit use of toilets/changing rooms) – As much as possible please arrive ready to participate to avoid use of changing facilities. Please keep your changing to appropriate standards, bearing in mind that there might be u18s in the hall.
Suggestion: wear shorts under your joggers, change into breaches which you wear over your shorts.
- please keep your fencing back neat and space them out from other participants
During the session
- You will be grouped into bubbles of up to 6 fencers, for your sparring. Please do not spar with anyone outside of your allocated bubble during particular training evening.
- One spool per fencers (if sharing is needed, the spool will need to be cleaned with antiviral wipes)
- No shaking hands at the end of the bouts
- Avoid sharing equipment. If sharing is unavoidable only for weapons and body-wires, sanitise the equipment (use antiviral wipes provided)
- Adapted sparring between two individuals in the group can take place up to 2 x 15 hits OR 5 x 5 hits, up to a maximum of 20mins of fencing time and 30 mins of elapsed time
- Participants will be encouraged to pause and take breaks during bouts.
- Mask liners (or similar) must be used during sparring/pair exercises
- Fencers in the adults sessions can wear face covings under their masks instead of mask liners
- Fencers are advised to limit their interactions with anyone outside of their sparring bubble

What to bring

To be covered by BFA insurance, every participant must have BFA membership. There is FREE 3 months Introduction membership.

First Aid Protocols
We will encourage the adult participants to administer basic first aid by themselves. Club first aid will be available to participants, and qualified first aiders will be able to help. Qualified First Aiders: Alex Agrenich.
If you are qualified first aider and would like to help another participant, please let us know and send in your latest first aid certificate.
