Continuing the fencing journey
Most of our Cadet fencers are graduates from our Junior Fencing courses. They have mastered the basic skills of the sport. As teenagers, their increased size and power means they are ready to take up full-sized weapons. Now they will begin their transition towards the speed and intensity of the adult game.
What is Cadet Fencing?
Our U17 Cadet offering seeks to provide a bridge between our junior courses and full senior membership.
With a shift from group work to on one-on-one training, there is a greater emphasis on developing tactical awareness, advanced techniques and competition readiness.
The cadet session also offer our teenage fencers the opportunity to begin fencing with seniors without any pressure to do so.
Fencers who are of cadet age, but feel ready to apply for full senior membership and participate in senior sessions, may do so with the Head Coach's permission.
